A big thank you to Filterstorm for providing me with a new Nikon J1 to use on my ride. The camera arrived yesterday and it’s a beauty! I think it’ll be the perfect camera for this trip. I wanted something more than a point and shoot but also didn’t want to deal with the weight and bulk of a SLR. The Nikon 1 System cameras are slick – literally, I’m a bit worried of it slipping out of my hands on the trail!
Please wander over to the Filterstorm website to check out the suite of powerful tools that let you retouch photos with your fingertips. If you own an iPad or iPhone and like to touch up your photos, or if you’re a professional photographer seeking a mobile darkroom, I think Filterstorm is the best solution out there!
For those interested, here’s a breakdown of the camera kit with weight.
Camera Body (no batt.) – 8.5oz
Strap – 0.9oz
Lens; 10mm 1:2.8 – 3.3oz
Lens; 10-30mm 1:3.5-5.6 – 4.6oz

This is so flipping cool, Gen. As a photographer, I’m looking for something like this: light, but with interchangeable lenses. Your photographs are going to be AMAZING. 🙂
