Day 87 – Wrong Turn
I’ve made it this whole way without making a wrong turn, and on my next to last day, I go the wrong way and end up in the middle of someone’s ranch with the dogs guiding me out.

Day 86 – Leap Frogging
I wandered around Silver City with my parents this morning while waiting for my part to arrive. I got the call around noon, and we rushed off to get it installed and to get me back on the route.

Day 85 – Evac
I managed to text and call my parents from the dirt road this morning. They were able to meet me and pick me up on a paved portion of the route in the afternoon. We’re in Silver City tonight.

Day 84 – Who knew?
Who would’ve guessed that New Mexico would be the coldest, greenest, and most flowered state (and perhaps one of the wettest)? Last night, I stayed nice and toasty in my sleeping bag as ice formed in my water bottles.

Day 83 – Sunshine!
Perfect riding weather today. It was cold, down to around freezing last night, but the crisp air and warm sunshine made for pleasant riding. A few remnant puddles and mud holes presented themselves early in the day.

Day 82 – Another Rain Day
Another lazy day at the Toaster house. Tre and I spent most of the day lounging around, analyzing the clouds, eating, reading magazines, and eating pie.

Day 81 – Rain Day
The pounding of the rain kept us up until about 2:00, when it finally let up a bit. Not good. Queen Bee and ‘It’s All Downhill’ hit the road at 5:30 this morning with ambitions of trying to ride 110 miles to make up for the delay I caused

Day 80 – Pie Town
I woke up at 4:00 this morning and was riding before 5:00. The riding very soon turned into walking.

Day 79 – Big Push
Queen Bee and ‘It’s All Downhill’ made me wake up at 4:30 this morning so I’d have a fighting chance at making it to Pie Town tonight.
