Most of today, I thought I’d end up in Butte tonight. I knew that if I arrived late in the day, I’d feel compelled to stay a second night. I’ve managed, however, to stop early today and hang out in camp rather than heading straight into town. I’ll try to wake up early and ride the 15 paved miles into town for my morning coffee. About 6 of those miles will be on Interstates 15 and 90. It should be interesting.

I took my time waking up this morning, enjoying the warmth of my sleeping bag. Had it been raining this morning, I would have just laid there till it stopped. I would have waited all day if I had to.

The most eventful part of today’s ride was riding through ‘tunnel #9′. I was halfway through, wondering why my headlamp wasn’t working before I realized I still had my sunglasses on. Otherwise, nothing of much interest comes to mind. The scenery was a little different in that several miles were right along Interstate 15. In fact, I’m camped right along the interstate tonight. It’s quite a nice campsite, and some weird part of me has always wanted to camp along an interstate—something about people whizzing by, utterly oblivious to life in the super slow lane.
