I managed to wake up at a decent time and get riding before 6:30 this morning. Once again, there was frost. It was a chilly ride until the sun came up over the mountains. I moved at a decent clip this morning; I wanted to get to Silverthorne at a decent time to meet and ride with Sean.

Sean is 13 years old and has been riding unicycles for about a year. He’s already way better than I am and was hopping around on his 24″ muni like a rabbit. We rode the stretch into Frisco, where Sean’s mom, Margaret, was waiting with strawberries, sandwiches, and snacks. Sean should join me for the rest of the trip; too bad he starts school tomorrow.

Margaret drove me back to their house in Boulder, where I showered and waited for my friend, Speshul 41 (trail name), to get off work. Margaret sent us off with bags full of vegetables and greens and hot sausages—yum, and thanks!

At Speshul’s apartment, I met his roommates Jesse, Megan, and Sundance, the pup. We went out to join the GoLite crew (Speshul’s coworkers) for karaoke. It was a bit of a shock to the system to be indoors amongst so many people, not to mention all the loud ‘singing.’ I remained an observer for the night.
